The 43rd AGM of The Friends of Buckden Towers was held by virtual contact only on the 22nd April 2020. Minutes of this Virtual AGM, including the reports prepared by the Chairman, the treasurer etc are available by request from admin@fobt .org.uk
Chairman's Report : Pat Huff reported on another successful and active year. Net funds had increased in the year, with a current balance in the bank account of around £40,000. There had been no significant expenditure items in the year other than the usual contributions to the Claretions with regard to the maintenance of the buildings, and to the Gardening Committee with regard to the maintenance of The Knot Garden.
Pat reported that the Plant Sale in 2019 had, in spite of the mixed weather, been, very successful; Heritage Day 2019 had been a rather wet day, with consequently fewer visitors, but the committee did what they could, and a good number of tours were held. The Quiz Nights had regrettably had to be cancelled due to accommodation problems. The Chairman thanked all volunteers and caterers for their support in these events. Pat then stood down as Chairman, and Keith Lawrence was elected unanimously as the new Chairman.
Mike Allwright confirmed that a sum of £10000 has been offered to the owners as a contribution to the costs of repair to the Gatehouse. He also confirmed that arrangements with Historic England are well in advance, but currently suspended due to Corona Virus
The Mike Kiely Trophy was awarded to Pat Huff this year in recognition of her 4 years as Chairman of FOBT. Keith Lawrence thanked her for her valued service to the Council.

Had to be cancelled due to accommodation problems.
Plant Sale Day 2019 was successful, in spite of the mixed weather, generating a net revenue of over £2000. A good number of tours were held, and good income was achieved from the sales of refreshments and bric-a-brac.
Provisionally to be held on Friday 3rd July 2020 at the Methodist Hall, subject to "lock-down" relaxation.
A bi-annual event. Arrangements for 2021 to be announced later this year.
